When I started working on my finances, self-discipline is something I struggled with, and this was down to the fact that I didn’t always have a clear set goal for each step I was taking, but I gradually made some changes and became good at it. I realised that it was imperative to work on your self-discipline when managing your finances.

Becoming a student of self-discipline is difficult let alone becoming a master of it.

It requires ongoing practice and it takes time to develop

The good news is you can improve your self- discipline too

Self-discipline is your consistent ability to control your actions, feelings and emotions.

When it comes to your finances, it is your ability to make a plan for paying down debt & saving and sticking to it.

When you obtain self- discipline, you will stay motivated and achieve success quicker.

Building self-discipline skills can help you discard bad habits, accomplish short-term and long term goals and help you work towards the better life that you deserve

1. Write Down Your Goals & Put Them Where You Can See Them Everyday

Writing your goals down makes them more real, when you see them, you become inspired and will take the necessary steps towards achieving them.

2. What Is Your Why – Remind Yourself Often Why You Started

This is keeping your end goal in mind without allowing yourself to forget where and why you started. This will help when things get hard

Affirmations are a great way to keep you focused

3. Set Small Goals First

When you start with setting yourself small goals, you are motivated to achieve those goals. Achieving these will build your confidence and keep you motivated to keep going

4. Identify Your Weaknesses

When you identify your weaknesses, you can work on them and even seek help to overcome them. This is a great way to develop yourself even further.

5. Get An Accountability Partner

If someone you admire is watching you, you are likely to work hard to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

I can tell you, you will go above and beyond to not disappoint and when things become really tough, you are there to give each-other a push
